Different Types Of Jio Sim

What are the differences between the Orange and Blue Reliance Jio SIM packs?

If you have recently waited in line or went through your own hardships to obtain aReliance Jio SIM card, you might be aware of some people who received a slightly different SIM packaging than yours. So have you ever wondered what would be difference between the two? Well, it’s simpler than you think really.

Well, if you received your Jio SIM in an Orange colored packaging, it basically means that you got one of the older SIMs which Jio was offering during the preview period. This will come with its own number, so you won’t be able to port-in your existing mobile number.

The Blue colored packaging, however, is for the newer stocks of SIM cards, which allows customers from other networks to bring their number to Jio. If you don't have a number, the system will generate one for you. So in essence, retailers were trying to finish off the stocks of the preview SIM before selling the MNP (mobile number portability) capable SIM cards. In terms of functionality and features, however, there’s barely any difference between the two, so don’t contemplate returning yourOrange SIM card just yet.

If you’re looking to get a new Reliance Jio SIM, the chances are that you will probably get the Blue version since the Orange SIM cards might have run out of stock by now.
